OMS were again appointed to provide the manning to meet an unmanned towed barge off Cape Town, prepare her moorings, take the Harbour Pilot and berthing tugs services and then undertake the mooring up alongside in port.

After our launches delivered our Marine Teams aboard the barge some 10 miles from the port, a sudden heavy fog arose, which cancelled the services midway into port on the first attempt.

Our second attempt was also aborted, right outside the port entrance, due to ramping winds.

Finally, after 3 days, we had our clear weather window and our Team was again dispatched to bring the Barge alongside, now under ideal conditions.

The towing gear was slipped and recovered aboard by our crew, before reaching the berth.

Another OMS Marine Services Team success!
